Approaching is another busy weekend when it comes to live jazz events. Joey T., Karen Marguth, the CoolTones, and Finders & Friends can all be heard live this weekend.
Joey T., a music group that performs a wide range of music styles but specializes in Latin jazz and R&B, will be the first jazz group live this weekend at McKay's Taphouse & Beer Garden in Pleasanton. The event came up fairly recently on Joey T.'s calendar so we were did not get it on our Event Calendar. The music at the beer garden begins at 6:30 PM on May 24th (Thursday) and lasts approximately three hours.
After the Thursday night performance at McKay's Beer Garden, Joey T. & Friends will be at Banks Vault in Livermore on Friday, May 25th. Didier Bouvet will also be performing at this music event, which lasts from 7 - 10 PM.
Also on Friday night (May 25th), Karen Marguth will be singing at Main Street Brewery in Pleasanton. The music will begin at 9 PM; we do not know when the performance ends, but it most likely ends around midnight. Probably, at least some of Finders & Friends will also be performing at this event.
The CoolTones Big Band will then perform at Pleasanton Farmer's Market on Saturday, May 26th, from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM. The Farmer's Market takes place on Angela Street, which is on the eastern side of downtown Pleasanton.
Finally, on Sunday, May 27th, Finders & Friends will perform at Retzlaff Vineyards in Livermore. The music will begin at 1 PM and end at 4 PM.
While we were in the process of writing of this post, we made a correction to our Events Calendar: Joey T. will perform at Vine at Bridges on June 2nd, not June 1st, as our Calendar used to state.
We are planning to begin a new series similar to the jazz recommendations, but instead about music theory - in particular, music theory that is related to jazz. This new music theory series will not begin immediately but will probably begin at some point during the next couple of weeks.
